[Die vier Arten von Ancinus H. Milne Edwards aus küstennahen benthischen Habitaten in der Neuen Welt werden erörtert. Eine Abbildung von jeder Art und Karten ihrer geographischen Verbreitung werden vorgelegt. Die Arten Ancinus depressus (Say, 1818) (Typus-Art), A. granulatus Holmes & Gay, 1909 und A. brasiliensis Lemos de Castro, 1959 haben eine sehr ähnliche Morphologie.
