Aus einer beschränkten Anzahl benthischer Biotope des Aldabra Atoll im Indischen Ozean werden zwanzig Arten der Copepoda untersucht. Diese Auswahl kann nicht als repräsentativ für die benthische Umgebung von Aldabra angesehen werden. Weitere Untersuchungen sind notwendig, bevor über Zusammensetzung und Beziehungen dieses Teils des Aldabra-Fauna Aussagen gemacht werden können. Die taxonomische Bedeutung von fünf der Arten wird diskutiert wobei die Aussagen über Heterolaophonte quinquespinosa als am Bedeutungsvollsten angesehen werden. Heterolaophonte quinquespinosa wird neu beschrieben und als möglicherweise synonym mit zwei anderen Arten der Genus angesehen.
