[This paper reports the discovery of Daphnia ambigua and D. parvula from Central Europe. Both species were found in many localities, mainly in pools of gravel pits, in the vicinity of Würzburg (Bavaria). Presumably they have been introduced from the New World. In the meantime D. parvula was found by U. Einsle in the Lake of Constance and in a small lake near Säckingen (Baden); therefore this species can be considered a stable component of the fauna on the European continent., This paper reports the discovery of Daphnia ambigua and D. parvula from Central Europe.
