Étude histologique de cinq spécimens d'Ampelisca brevicornis recueillis à Derbyhaven, île de Man. Chaque animal présente les caractéristiques externes des deux sexes, mais tous sont manifestement des mâles qui n'ont pu arriver à maturité, probablement sous l'influence d'un parasite interne. Dans quatre cas, il y avait infestation par une métacercaire, tandis que le cinquième exemplaire contenait environ 30 petits cystes non identifiés. Les conséquences de ces constatations pour la taxonomie des Ampelisca sont discutées.
