Une nouvelle espèce de crevette Pontoniine, Apopontonia dubia, associée à l'éponge Ircinia cf. echinata (Keller), est décrite et illustrée. Les deux seconds péréiopodes manquent à l'exemplaire unique ce qui fait que sa situation générique ne peut être considérée comme absolutement certaine. Les similarités et différences résultant d'une comparaison avec A. falcirostris Bruce, la seule autre espèce du genre, sont discutées. Le spécimen a été obtenu à 20 m, à Shag Rock, à l'est de North Stradbroke Island, Queensland, Australie.
