Une nouvelle espèce, Heterocaprella krishnaensis, est décrite du Golfe du Bengale. Les principales caractéristiques sont: la présence de péréiopodes 6 et 7 dans les deux sexes, un segment terminal long et pointu, sans aucune soie, sur les péréiopodes 6 and 7 de la femelle, et la présence de branchies inégales sur les péréionites III et IV.
