Biologische Tests wurden unternommen, um die kurzfristige Giftwirkung dreier häufig verwendeter Insektiziden, Endosulfan, Methyl-Demeton und Carbaryl, auf Macrobrachium lamarrei (M. Edwards) zu ermitteln. Die LC50-Werte betrugen 0.00534, 0.00429, 0.00390 und 0.00352 mg/l für Endosulfan; 4.156, 3.296, 2.430 und 1.999 mg/l für Methyl-Demeton und 0.0489, 0.0408, 0.0361 und 0.0326 mg/l für Carbaryl nach jeweils 24, 48, 72, und 96 h. Endosulfan erwies sich als außerordentlich toxisch und Methyl-Demeton war am wenigsten toxisch. Der LC50-Wert nimmt in dem Maße ab, in dem die Expositionszeit zunimmt.
