Viene descritto Microcerberus redangensis n. sp. del sistema interstiziale della costa di Pulau Redang, un'isola della costa nord-orientale della Malesia. Vengono riesaminate tutte le specie note di Microcerberus e, sulla base dei caratteri morfologici del pleopode II O, si propone l'istituzione di 4 gruppi di specie: remanei, anfindicus, mirabilis e stygius. Restano da inquadrare per le loro peculiari caratteristiche M. delamarei e M. machadoi mentre M. predatoris, M. monodi e M. littoralis dovranno essere riesaminate essendo state descritte su immaturi. Viene inoltre istituito un nuovo genere, Bulgarocerberus n. gen., per la specie phreaticus. Specie tipo: Bulgarocerberus phreaticus (Cvetkov 1963). Viene riportata infine la distribuzione generale di tutte le specie di Microcerberoidea e vengono discussi i problemi biogeografici dei vari generi e gruppi di specie.
