Des mâles et des femelles de Stenhelia (Delavalia) stephensoni sp. nov. collectés dans des eaux d'estuaire au large des côtes orientales d'Australie sont décrits et figurés. D'après les caractères de la clef de Coull (1976) c'est de Stenhelia (D.) longifurca Sewell que la nouvelle espèce est la plus proche. Les deux espèces sont cependant facilement séparées par la formule sétale des pattes natatoires, par la structure des 5èmes pattes mâles et femelles et par un certain nombre de détails dans la sétation et dans la spinulation de l'urosome.
