Leydigia ankammaraoi sp. nov. est signalée de la région inférieure du delta du fleuve Krishna, Andhra Pradesh, Inde. Cette espèce diffère nettement des 12 espéces valides du monde par l'ornementation des valves, deux rangées parallèles de soies fines à l'angle postéro-ventral, les projections spiniformes tuberculées sur les côtés du postabdomen et la griffe avec une épine basale et des denticules uniformes localisés dans les deux tiers antérieurs du côté concave. Une clef d'identification est fournie pour les espèces indiennes du genre Leydigia Kurz, 1875.
