Acartia (Acanthacartia) plumosa T. Scott et deux espèces étroitement apparentées, A. sinjiensis Mori et A. tropica sp. nov. sont redécrites ou décrites. Les spécimens des deux dernières espèces ont été souvent identifiés à tort à A. plumosa. A. iseana Ito et A. baylyi Greenwood sont des synonymes plus récents d'A. sinjiensis. Les distributions géographiques disjointes d'A. plumosa et d'A. sinjiensis sont interprétées en fonction d'une introduction anthropophile par l'eau de ballast de navires.
