L'identité de spécimens malais de Macrobrachium lanchesteri (De Man, 1911), est confirmée après une comparaison avec les spécimens types de Lanchester. Un lectotype a aussi été désigné. Le dimorphisme sexuel de l'espèce est signalé et la première zoé est décrite en détail pour la première fois. La variation infra-spécifique est brièvement discutée et les spécimens de l'Inde précédemment identifiés à M. lanchesteri sont maintenant rapportés à un taxon séparé, encore non nommé.
