Ceratoconcha paucicostata sp. nov., qui habite le coralliaire Madracis decactis est décrit du Brésil et de la côte atlantique du Costa Rica. On le distingue facilement des autres espèces de Ceratoconcha par la couleur rouge brillant de la carapace, par un petit nombre de côtes externes, par une crête adductrice scutale rejoignant la crête articulaire, par un éperon tergal court et large situé près de l'angle basi-scutal.
