Les stades larvaires de Epialtus brasiliensis (Sous-famille Acanthonychinae) ont été obtenues en laboratoire à partir de femelles ovigères recueillies sur le littoral nord de l'état de São Paulo, Brésil. Les larves ont été élevées, isolées, dans des récipients contenant de l'eau de mer ayant une salinité de 34,5‰, et soumises à une température de 24 ± 1 °C, en utilisant comme nourriture des nauplii récemment éclos d'Artemia salina. Le développement larvaire comprend deux stades zoé et un stade mégalope. Des illustrations et des descriptions détaillées de la morphologie externe de chachun des stades larvaires sont présentées. Une clef des stades zoé de la sous-famille de Majidae de la côte du Sud et du Sud-est brésilien est présentée.
