Se describe una nueva especie del género Paralomis procedente del norte de Perù. P. phrixa es una especie próxima a P. spinosissima Birstein & Vinogradov, 1972, del Atlántico Sudoccidental, pero se diferencia fácilmente por la longitud de las espinas del caparazón. Se incluye una clave para la identificación de las especies del género Paralomis del Pacifico oriental.
