En microscopie optique, les capsules céphaliques des Aloninae (Cladocera, Chydoridae) sont habituellement représentées en plan, donc obligatoirement déformées. Les recherches entreprises grâce au Microscope Electronique à Balayage permettent de comparer l'aspect tridimentionnel des capsules céphaliques. Cette nouvelle approche s'appuie sur les différences de niveaux (H) entre les pores médians et les pores latéraux et l'écartement (L) de ces derniers par rapport au plan de symétrie de la capsule. Ces nouvelles données permettent ainsi de définir un critère supplémentaire et original pour la phylogénie de la sous-famille. Les résultats obtenus par cette approche sont comparés aux diagrammes phylogénétiques antérieurs.
