A new species belonging to the genus Sphaerodromia, S. lamellata, is described. It was caught by trawling off the SE of New Caledonia at a depth of 400 m. This species can be recognized, at first glance, from the four other species of the genus by the lamellated anterolateral margins of the carapace.
