The rare trichiine crab, T. horiii (Miyake, 1940) (Xanthidae) is recorded for the first time from Singapore waters and the Sunda Shelf. Variations in the degree of granulation on the carapace and sternum, form of the sternum and male abdomen, and structure of the male first pleopod are discussed. This is the second species of Trichia known from Sundaic Southeast Asia, the first being T. sakaii (Balss, 1938). The biology and habits of T. horiii are also described for the first time.
