A gynandromorph specimen of Samastacus spinifrons, captured in the river Hueyusca, southern Chile (41°07'S) is described. On the right side of the body of this specimen there was an ovotestis with gonoducts and gonopores of both sexes while on the left side an ovary with its respective oviduct and female gonopore was found. The previous records of gynandromorphism within the Astacidea are discussed as well as the possible origin of this gynandromorph.
