It is attempted in the present investigation to dry solid materials in the riser of circulating fluidized bed covering a wide range of operating parameters. The effects of initial moisture content, temperature and flow rate of the heating medium, and solid circulation rate on rate of drying, have been critically examined. It has been observed that the solids material used in the present investigation exhibits a falling rate period, and the rate of drying is influenced by the temperature and flow rate of the heating medium, solids circulation rate and solid initial moisture content.
