Catalytic hydrogenations of acetophenone, benzaldehyde, and cinnamaldehyde using a catalyst of 5% wt. Ru/activ. carbon in hexane and/or 2-propanol were studied. Basic kinetic parameters were evaluated. The influence of the reactants' structure and the kind of solvent used on the course of the reaction were also discussed.
