This article charts a number of pathways in exploring the relationship between liturgy and justice. Liturgy is presented as 'public service' that to a greater or lesser extent, in different church styles, embraces texts, the arts and a range of other symbolic and kinaesthetic media. Aspects of each of these are examined in order to highlight both ambiguities and promise in liturgical data's promotion of justice.
