L'existence de diverses recensions du Coran conduit à poser la question de l'organisation du texte et, par suite, de la visée pédagogique qui a présidé à chacune de ces recension. Envisagée de cette façon, la version canonique elle-même montre non seulement qu'elle a intégré des procédés courants d'action psychologique comme traits ponctuels, mais qu'elle a mis en jeu plusieurs stratégies stylistiques : jeu de rythmes, introductions subreptices, structures répétitives cumulatives ou au contraire restrictives, déplacement de la preuve, . . . en vue d'obtenir l'adhésion inconsciente de l'auditeur ou lecteur.
