For the sake of its mission the church needs to have funds. Auction is used by the Batak church in Indonesia to raise fund-rising. Normally, it is carried out at the time of church festival. The competitiveness of the Batak feature seems to suit the spirit of auction. Even though the practice of auction could collect money for the church, it also brings about some weaknesses for the Batak church to grow.
