<title> RIASSUNTO </title>La prima spedizione alla ricerca di J. F. de La Pérouse fu organizzata nel 1791 al comando di J. B. D'Entrecasteux. Riconosciuto il grande potenziale di questo viaggio ai fini della ricerca scientifica, la Société d'histoire naturelle di Parigi incaricò alcuni suoi membri allo scopo di elaborare istruzioni per i naturalisti che si imbarcavano. Tra queste le direttive di Lamarck sulla botanica e di Pinel sulla zoologia, al contrario di altre istruzioni, rimasero sconosciute e vengono qui pubblicate per la prima volta.
