<title> RIASSUNTO </title>Le xilografie presenti nel De re metallica di Georgius Agricola sono spesso utilizzate per illustrare metodi e tecniche minerarie nel 1500. Sono testimonianza di importanti trasformazioni avvenute nel settore minerario e, in generale, delle ricadute che tali cambiamenti ebbero sulla società. L'esame di tre ulteriori dipinti aiuta a tracciare un quadro del mondo cinquecentesco, cui risalgono le opere di Agricola e dei suoi xilografi.
