Viene proposto un particolare modello storiografico per spiegare certi aspetti della formazione dei concetti scientifici e della dinamica delle teorie. La principale caratteristica del modello consiste nella possibilit di organizzare il materiale documentario in diversi reti: una locale e una globale. E alla dinamica di tali reti e alla loro interazione che viene ricondotta la formazione dei concetti scientifici e il mutamento del loro significato. Il modello costruito viene applicato al caso del concetto di nucleo atomico.
