A description is given of Radopholus lavabri n.sp., found on the roots of rice plants in the French Cameroons (West Africa). The species differs from R. gracilis (De Man 1880) Hirschmann 1955 in the following: lip region clearly hemispherical, spear nearly twice as long, spicules and gubernaculum larger, tail not so thin. The lateral field is not crossed by transverse lines in any species of the genus Radopholus except in the terminal portion of the body of male R. gracilis.
