Auf Grund eines Berichts von BELLONI (1954), dass in Italien Weizen (Triticum aestivum L.) von Ditylenchus dipsaci angegriffen wird, wurden Weizen-, Gerste-und Hafersorten auf ihre Anfälligkeit gegenüber Ditylenchus dipsaci von Hafer aus Gross-Britannien und auf Anguina tritici geprüft. Keine Sorte wurde von D. dipsaci befallen, aber alle Weizensorten, einschliesslich einiger italienischer, waren gegenüber A. tritici anfällig. Es scheint, dass die D. dipsaci-Rasse, die in Italien Weizen angreift, von der Haferrasse Gross-Britanniens biologisch verschieden ist. In Gross-Britannien besteht keine Gefahr eines Angriffs von D. dipsaci an Weizen oder Gerste. Resistenz des Weizens gegenüber D. dipsaci bedeutet aber keine Resistenz gegenüber A. tritici.
