L'auteur donne une description de Scutellonema clathricaudatum n.sp., ectoparasite présumé des racines du coton. Cette espèce est morphologiquement apparentée à S. blaberum, S. boocki, S. bradys et S. coheni. Ces 5 espèces possèdent un champ latéral aréole à un degré variant dans la région du scutellum et se distinguent ainsi de S. brachyurum et S. christei. Des 5 espèces précitées seules S. boocki et S. clathricaudatum possèdent une bande centrale du champ latéral qui est aréolée (notamment les bandes derrière le scutellum et les deux ou trois anneaux devant celui-ci). La tête de S. clathricaudatum possède 7 anneaux, celle de S. boocki n'en possède que 5.
