Le Meloidogyne kikuyensis n. sp. diffère des autres espèces du genre Meloidogyne par la forme caractéristique de la partie anale chez les femelles. Le patron cuticulaire postérieur montre un arc dorsal bas, plus ou moins carré, des joues typiquement striées de chaque côté du vulve et une figure sinussoidale entourant l'anus en dessous du cuticle. Les larves diffèrent de toutes les autres espèces excepté de M. africana et M. inornata. Le mâle de M. kikuyensis diffère de M. africana et M. inornata (Lordello, 1956) par le quadrillage sur toute la longeur des côtés latéraux et par le nombre constant des raies qui est toujours de quatre.
