L'auteur décrit un microörganisme parasitaire, observé dans des femelles adultes de Meloidogyne javanica et M. incognita acrita provenant de racines de canne à sucre de l'Ile Maurice. Cet organisme ne put être identifié avec certitude et paraît appartenir à l'ordre des Microsporidia ou Haplosporidia. Les spores ressemblent en général à ceux de Duboscqia penetrans Thorne, mais certains stades évolutifs (probablement des schizontes), ne ressemblent à aucune des formes connues de sporozoaires parasitant les nématodes. Le corps de l'hôte infecté peut être rempli de spores, les tissus internes étant apparemment complètement détruits. L'incidence du parasitisme des femelles pouvant être élévé (34%), cet organisme parasitaire pourrait être un ennemi naturel important des nématodes des racines.
