The genera and species of the subfamily Hoplolaiminae are reviewed and a classification of the genera and species is proposed. The subfamily and genera are diagnosed and the species listed. The genus Nemonchus is synonymized with Hoplolaimus and Gottholdsteineria synonymized with Rotylenchus. Spirotylenchus is synonymized with Rotylenchulus and excluded from Hoplolaiminae. Hoplolaimus coronatus is synonymized with Hoplolaimus galeatus. Scutellonema coheni and S. boocki are synonymized with S. brachyurum. Helicotylenchus nannus, Tylenchus spiralis and T. olaae are synonymized with Helicotylenchus dihystera n. comb. Helicotylenchus elisensis is synonymized with Rotylenchulus reniformis. The following new combinations are proposed: Scutellonema aberrans ; Rotylenchus quartus ; Rotylenchus pumilus ; Helicotylenchus steueri and Rotylenchulus parvus.
