Die Untersuchungen lassen erkennen, daß die Gefahr der Samenübertragbarkeit von Ditylenchus dipsaci bei Ackerbohnen (Vicia faba) praktische Bedeutung hat. Der Anteil älchenbefallener Samen an der Gesamternte eines verseuchten Ackers betrug maximal 41%; der Aufwuchs im befallsfreien Boden zeigte einen fast gleich hohen Verseuchungsgrad. Je schlechter die äußere Qualität der Bohnensamen ist, um so größer sind Befallsanteil und Älchendichte. Ein Kriterium für stärkeren Befall der Samen ist die Ausbildung je eines nekrotischen Fleckes auf den Kotyledonen in der Nähe des Hypokotyls.
