Techniques for the orientation, embedding and sectioning of several species of soil and marine nematodes have been investigated. Orientation of the nematodes has been achieved by embedding them in agar after fixation, but prior to dehydration. The agar flats, containing nematodes, are then infiltrated with Maraglas 655 and the final block is formed in gelatin capsules. The importance of various key steps in the procedure is discussed.
