In a soil sample from around the roots of forest vegetation, two new criconematids were found. Macroposthonia longistyleta n. sp. is characterized by a long and flexible stylet (106-129 μ), large . strongly projecting submedian lobes, more or less differentiated first and second annules and by a sigmoid vagina. Discocriconemella surinamensis n. sp. is closely related to D. yossifovichi (Krnjaic, 1968) but differs from it by the smaller number of body annules (81-85 against 102-108) and the absence of labial plates.
