Bertzuckermania salina n. g., n. sp. is described. It is characterized by the presence of a cuticularized stomal ring; a stoma with its cuticular lining not visible except at its posterior end where it thickens to form guiding ring; a short, slender and curved axial stylet; weakly sclerotized stylet extension; an oesophagus with posterior fourth short, expanded and bulb-like, without valvular apparatus; didelphic gonads; a pair of lateral guiding pieces and a single pair of adanal supplements in the male. The diagnosis of the family Leptonchidae is emended to make it a homogeneous group. It comprises the subfamilies Leptonchinae, Tylencholaiminae, Tylencholaimellinae, Dorylaimoidinae, Miranematinae and Belonenchinae. Diagnoses of these subfamilies are given. A new subfamily Aulolaimoidinae is erected under the family Campydoridae. The genera included under various subfamilies have been listed.
