Heterodera zeae n. sp. from the roots of Zea mays L. (maize) in Rajasthan State, India is described and figured. It belongs to the schachtii group with ambifenestrate type of vulval region. Barley is also a host. It was also collected from maize fields in Pusa, Bihar and Ludhiana, Punjab.
