The species of Axonchium with vaginal sclerotization and disc-like structure between vulva and vagina are redescribed. This group consists of six species described by Thorne (1939), namely A. choristum, A. crassum, A. gigas, A. micans, A. serpens and A. solitare, and a seventh species, A. thornei, described by Hechler (1969). Most of them have not been reported from other places than the type locality.
