A bioassay for quantitatively measuring the ability of a nematode to induce trap formation in a predaceous fungus is described. The bioassay was sensitive to changes in the crude nemin concentration and is specific for the crude nemin. In addition, the bioassay can be performed rapidly and inexpensively. The bioassay provides an important tool that can be used in measuring nematode-predaceous fungus interrelationships.
