Meloidogyne propora n. sp. is described and illustrated from the roots of Cyperus obtusiflorus and Solanum nigrum from Aldabra. Larvae possess a short tail (15.9-21.7 μm), a relatively long stylet (16.5-18.5 μm) and an excretory pore situated anterior to the median bulb. Females possess a long neck and a posterior cuticular pattern characterised by a circular tail whorl. The dumb-bell shaped head cap of males overlaps the first or first and second head annules dorsally and ventrally and the excretory pore is usually anterior to the hemizonid. The posterior cuticular patterns of M. propora n. sp. and M. javanica from Aldabra are illustrated with scanning electron micrographs.
