A new genus, Imphalenchus, and a new species Cephalenchus lobus of the family Tylenchidae Orley, 1880 are described from Manipur, India. Imphalenchus indicus n. gen., n. sp. has slender body, four incisures in the lateral fields, long attenuated spear almost equal to the length of procorpus, isthmus long and narrow, basal bulb large, cardia present, female reproductive system mono-prodelphic, vulval flaps large, and long filiform tails in both sexes. Cephalenchus lobus n. sp. is distinctive because of the overlapping oesophageal glands. It also has a slender body, six incisures in the lateral fields, attenuated spear, small procorpus but a long isthmus, female reproductive system mono-prodelphic, small vulval flaps, and long filiform tails in both sexes.
