Two species in the genus Malenchus Andrássy, 1968 were studied. Paratypes supported the inclusion of Ottolenchus sulcus Wu, 1970 in Malenchus by Siddiqi (1979). Light and scanning electron microscopy of M. tantulus Siddiqi, 1979 from a Swedish pine forest soil, showed that the bursal wing was largely an expansion of the striated lateral field. In en face view the head was rectangular with four sectors. Swedish pine forest is a new geographical and habitat record for M. tantulus.
