Four new species of Tanypodinae are described from material collected by the 1967 Canadian Expedition to Nepal. These new species are now placed in the new nepalicola-group provisionally assigned to the genus Conchapelopia Fittkau. Definitive placing is not yet possible due to the lack of any juvenile material. A key to the males of the nepalicola-group is presented. A brief discussion of the phylogeny of the new species, C. buidonnai n.sp., C. dartofi n.sp., C. nepalicola n.sp. and C. setipalpis n.sp., and of the relationship of the nepalicola-group to other members of the Thienemannimyia Series is given. The group may be regarded as apomorphic but it stands in isolation from the main Palearctic Thienemannimyia Series. The unique form of the gonocoxite lobe is a diagnostic feature of the group.
