The identity of Trifurcula pallidella (Duponchel) (= T. pallidella Zeller) is established, and the species is redescríbed. It is compared with T. beimei Puplesis, with which it has been confused, and the latter is also redescribed. The genitalia are described and figured, and data on biology are given. T. incognitella Toll is synonymised with T. pallidella. The known distribution of both species is mapped.
