The apterous and alate viviparous females of Cinara smolandiae, a new species of aphid living on Juníperus communis stems in Sweden, is described and figured. A key is given to the Cinara spp. belonging to the subgenus Cupressobium, together with comparative biological information about rostral length and feeding site of Cinara spp. on Cupressaceae.
