The nine known species of the Limnebius nitidus subgroup sensu Jäch (1993) are revised, and two new species are described, L. monfortei sp. n. from the Sierra Nevada (Spain), and L. ordunyai sp. n. from Puertos de Beceite (Spain). The phylogenetic relationships of the species of the group are tentatively discussed based on the characters of the aedeagus, and in relation to their present distributions.
