The article presents a musicological text by the 19th century Moroccan author Ibrāhīm at-Tādilī, Aġānī s-siqā wa-maġānī l-mūsīqā au al-irtiqāʾ ilā ʿulūm al-mūsīqā, based on a manuscript now preserved at Granada. In this article I will concentrate on the theoretical and socio-cultural implications. The Aġānī s-siqā are an important document that reflects the strong relationship between the Andalusian-Moroccan music and the Moroccan identity, continuing until the present today.
