Friedrich Nicolais Sebaldus Nothanker geh�rt zu den erfolgreichsten deutschsprachigen Romanen des achtzehnten Jahrhunderts. Der Erfolg des Romans ist vor allem seiner abwechslungsreichen Handlung und gesellschaftskritisch-satirischen Tendenz zuzuschreiben. Die vorliegende Arbeit versucht, einen � bislang weniger beachteten � Aspekt von Sebaldus Nothanker zu erschlie�en. Durch Rekonstruktion einzelner Stationen von Sebaldus� langj�hriger Wanderschaft durch Mittelund Norddeutschland soll der Roman als Beitrag zur zeitgen�ssischen Reiseliteratur ausgewertet werden. Ferner wird untersucht, inwieweit Nicolai seinen gesellschaftskritisch- satirischen Anspruch im Rahmen des Reiseberichts zum Ausdruck brachte.
