ABSTRACT Hemocyanins of 19 species of decapods (Peneidea, Caridea, Astacidea, Thalassinidea, Palinuridea, Anomura, Brachyura) were studied by isoelectric focusing. One or 2 main bands were observed with pI (Isoelectric point) between 4.00 and 4.65; in addition, 1―4 accessory bands may be present in between 3.85 and 4.55. The homogeneity of the values shows a stability of pI through molecular evolution.
